Winter Fun with Nicholi Rogatkin

It’s been a little while since we’ve heard from Nicholi, but don’t think for a second that our little buddy has been hibernating out there in Massachusetts. No 12 year old who does backflip 3′s sits inside surfing myspace through the winter. Nicholi wrote in the other day to let all of you know what he’s been up to, what he’s looking forward to and also included a few very cool shots. Here goes:

I’ve had a great winter, but it looks like winter in New England is coming to an end and I’ll finally be able to ride BMX again. I love spending lots of time outside and there’s been tons of snow. It’s also been really cold, so I haven’t been concentrating so much on BMX. Most of the time I’ve been either Snowboarding or Playing Hockey. I can’t see why some people don’t like winter. But now it’s getting warmer and warmer, so I’ve been doing a lot more BMX than in the winter. I’m spending part of my Spring Vacation in Woodward and have great plans for 2009: I am already scheduled for France in May, Spain in June, UK in July and hope to travel more as time goes on. More proof here that Nicholi lives pretty close to Canada and does not hibernate.

The frozen ponds are not the only places Nicholi gets his shred on. Check out the skiboard method and at height too, but what else would we expect from Nicholi?

Snow in those hills can get pretty sparse, so I guess they spice things up by incorporating some makeshift wakeboarding at the bottom. Craziness. Here’s Nicholi riding his snowboard on water to the delight of hundreds of other people who had most likely signed liability releases at some point that day.

You may have seen this footage already, but it’s worth another look. This is what Nicholi did soon after we sent him the new Lucky 18″. A 12 year old paying his dues and learning backflip 360′s. It doesn’t get much zanier than that…
